Pasal diah dah review dia punya, I think I should put up mine — I thought I wanted to wait for Fairuz hantar my framed pics — ada dua lagi ok still tak dapat lagi —before I do my review. I really had higher hopes for the album but the one I got — it was OK. My pelamin was under a green sky light awning so everything under it looked greenish. I already told my dad about it but he insisted the pics would turn out ok. When I first get the raw pics — almost all of the pics for the sanding was GREEEEN!!!! Really awful. Fairuz janji he will try edit it – I’d guess he (or his staff) have done his best. The colour for a lot of the pics still have this weird greenish tone. *sad*
On the day of the wedding – I was comfortable with Fairuz as he and my fren Leen went to the same school so they basically guide us two where to sit and how to pose. I like most of my pics with my grandma and hubby’s grandma. Sad as certain pics that I really liked did not end up in the official photobook. But it’s ok, I have my own photobook.
Personally – I prefered the official photo album quality *stiff as a board — hopefully would last long* but editing wise I preferred the one I did myself. I felt the editing a bit tangkap muat on pre-set templates.
I like how my nikah pics turn out though.
So on to the pics.

Pics quality a bit off pasal ambik pakai handphone camera

For what I have paid — I think I am pretty satisfied. Although if I have the extra money and get married all over again to the same guy — I probably go for someone else. All in all — Fairuz done a good job for me. Though – I would have put a nicer review if only I have gotten my framed pics in time.
At the end of the day — it really depend on how much you can afford — and pray that the photographer you chose would deliver to your expectation.
I have read photographers complained regarding clients giving bad reviews online as bad for their business. Well, shouldn’t you strive to give all your best to your clients so none of them end up giving u bad reviews? By doing that — your reputations would spread by word of mouth and bring more customers in. Right? And do not compromise on quality. It is ok to get more clients but if it causes you to slack on the quality of your service — it’ll backfire at the end.
To tell the truth – almost all famous photographers have had bad reviews comments online — you just have to look for them. You will be very surprised to hear stories like there are photogs that instead of shooting a client’s wedding as promised — they sent a different person(?junior ?senior photog or someone else) instead. They overbook – do 2 weddings on the same day and came late to yours. Or they do not honour the package that they give during promotions. Late delivery of photo albums.
There have been also instances that the pics does not look as grand as the ones that was in the photographer portfolio despite you have paid the same expensive package. They would comment that normal people weddings *i.e non celebs or royalties* looked too ordinary in real life that it’ll take a miracle to make it grand in print. Do not ever accept that. Bad photogs — kalau bagi wedding siti nurhaliza pun would produce bad pics. On the other hand – if you are really as good as you say you were — you can turn a kampung wedding looked as grand as a hotel wedding in the pictures.
I always thought that 2 vendors would make or break a wedding — the photographer and the caterer. Without one — you will have nothing to remember it by. Without the other — it wouldn’t be a nice kenduri in the first place. So choose these two carefully ok.

Tired waiting for your storyboard album? I had all the raws from my photographer and ended up designing my DIY wedding photo book using Photobook Malaysia software. It only takes like 3-4 days and they deliver straight to your door step. Then, taking advantage of the August promotion where you can get 25% off the usual price + Free Shipping. The offer is valid until 31 August 2009 so if you want to take up on the offer, you have to do it fast.
And just so you know — I am perfectly satisfied with my photo books. I love both of it. The paper is smooth. The pictures looked crisp and clear. You do need some creativity to do the layouts but the software were very easy to learn.
Now — still waiting for my storyboard album. Hopefully it’ll be as good as I hoped it’ll be.

Taken from Avicenna Studio facebook album. Will be picking up the CD and choosing the pics for the album this weekend kalau tak ada aral melintang.

Sila fokus kepada cincin Bausch K yang tetiba hampir tak muat nak sarung kat my hubby’s punya fat finger. Entah apa lah yang dia makan sedangkan cincin tu beli like 2 weeks prior to our wedding day macam mana boleh tak muat.

Tengah tahan gelak ni

My dearest bridesmaids… yes, Leen – u pun considered my bridesmaid jugak. Chief bridesmaid lagi.

In conjunction me finally meeting my photographer recently — I am featuring the favourite works of his.
I started out asking Eleena who did she pick for HER wedding photographer. My philososphy is it takes someone from the wedding industry to know the best people in the field. She recommended Fairuz Ismail of Avicenna Studio. (who is incidentally also her studio partner and primary school classmates). I emailed Fairuz and he gave his quotation which is very reasonable so I booked him straight away — around last year. Which worked up very cheap compared to what he is charging this year * I got him according to last year rates not this year rates.
Initially I have my doubts. I like Saiful Nang and Syahrin Aziz works as well. But — I have already paid right so no changing my mind. And I am a big fan of his wife’s blog *LOL* — yup.. benda yang langsung tak berkaitan tapi dipertimbangkan juga dalam proses pemilihan jurugambar perkahwinan. I like his sample of work — especially the ones with normal at home ‘kenduri’. I mean, anyone can take nice gorgeous pictures of extraordinary hotel weddings — ya know the kind of Mawi and Ekin wedding carnival with huge panels of fresh flowers and lampu lip lap lip lap–
It takes a talented photographer to photograph a normal wedding and transform it into something special.

Need to make sure he takes a picture of both me and ohanaya-san’s grandmothers ‘tepung tawar’.

And pictures of my aunties and uncles… yes I like more pics of people rather than things.

Sure you want to have photos of the wedding details like the hantaran and stuff but I really want my wedding pics be more about people that I love – my friends and family. So moar pics of my nieces & friends and less of the pelamin detailings… because seriously not many ppl actually really pays attention to it.
And I want a father and daughter pic moment like this.

Cute nieces & cousin shot is a wajib shot

Muka groom tengah takut depan kadi also a wajib shot

Kaki shots that I like…
…. to be continued…

Guess where…

It is very close to my house.

Can do poses in the rain like this.. although I really do hope in does not rain on my wedding.

A mosque nearby. Very pretty architecture.

No dear.. I won’t ask you to jump that high…
Can you tell where is it from the pictures? I did not have much pics for my other choices. Maybe later… Or do any of you visitors have better suggestions for outdoor photo shoot in Klang Valley. Not the usual FRIM or Putrajaya.
I love the UPM Serdang field pics but I guessed it is too far from my place.
I am wondering if Taman Jaya near Paramount Garden or Taman Tun park (near Bukit Kiara) would be nicer…

Decided to put in the deposit for the photographer early as I just realise my wedding date could be easily overbooked – it being school holidays and all – first weekend of the school holidays come to think of it. So I decided to take.. Avicenna Studio.. Ok, actually I wanted to engage Saiful Nang but at the end I went back and pick Avicenna.
Why?
From the package –> I like the part of the description ->
Unlimited shots & all images returned in DVD with 120 fully edited images.
I liked to have all the raws and probably do another coffee table album using Photobook or do a slideshow montage afterwards. And maybe the other raws I wanted to photoshop myself. Hehehehe… And price is affordable *at least in my standards* And a free outdoor portraiture. *Am a sucker for anything free*
And I liked the way he captures the brides and the groom portraits in his portfolio plus his team has a knack of capturing good guest reaction pictures.. meaning candid shots of beaming smiles of the little flower girls, nervous look of the groom, guests having fun and laughing ‘gedik’ bridesmaids. Which is what I wanted for my wedding. I am not really that into artistic or heavily posed or edited pics. I am more towards spontaneous shots. And nope – I am not into changing outfits four times for my wedding so no studio photoshoots for me..
I talked to mum just now – told her that next month, Ohanaya-san wants to drive up to Kuala Terengganu – where my parents are staying now – to discuss about the wedding and engagement. He’s going to go with his uncle and mum. My parents are ok with it and looking forward to it. *
Prays it goes well.
Will be going house hunting this weekend.
Yeah!!!

I am thinking of getting Avicenna Studio for my actual day wedding. Already asking for a quotation for 7 hours whole day shoot with prewedding. Ohanaya-san (my future hubby..) not really keen for prewedding photoshoots as he’s not really comfortable with taking pics.. BUT I don’t care.. I want to have pretty pics of me in wedding gown and you only get married once.
I toy with the idea of getting Kidchan but then decide my budget won’t allow it. I want a more photojournalistic pics for my wedding so also considering Magic Clickers, Candid Syndicate or Iskandar Ibrahim.
For my engagement, I have a feeling that I wanted to ask some of my friends who were good in photography as papparazzi. *obviously engagement kecik kecik jer..* So if anyone interested just drop me a line yaa…
