Make me beautilicious..

It is finally confirmed. This 27th December will be my official engagement day *although i consider myself already engaged to him for months already but never mind.. My future mom in law wanted to bring it forward to Christmas but my parents prefer sticking to the original date.

Nina is doing my make up. The dress is bought and ready. My mum will do the engagement hantaran. And the most important part of all… my boss already said that I will have that weekend off yeah!!!!!

I am happy… happy..

Winning the My Women Stuff Christmas Giveaway of course. I really want the Beautilicious set. Have seen it so many times in Watson but did not dare to try it. If I win it, Nina would have more makeup at her disposal in her mission to beautify me enough for the engagement. I mean, she need all the help she can get

My wedding photographer

Decided to put in the deposit for the photographer early as I just realise my wedding date could be easily overbooked – it being school holidays and all – first weekend of the school holidays come to think of it. So I decided to take.. Avicenna Studio.. Ok, actually I wanted to engage Saiful Nang but at the end I went back and pick Avicenna.

Why?

I liked to have all the raws and probably do another coffee table album using Photobook or do a slideshow montage afterwards. And maybe the other raws I wanted to photoshop myself. Hehehehe… And price is affordable *at least in my standards* And a free outdoor portraiture. *Am a sucker for anything free*

And I liked the way he captures the brides and the groom portraits in his portfolio plus his team has a knack of capturing good guest reaction pictures.. meaning candid shots of beaming smiles of the little flower girls, nervous look of the groom, guests having fun and laughing ‘gedik’ bridesmaids. Which is what I wanted for my wedding. I am not really that into artistic or heavily posed or edited pics. I am more towards spontaneous shots. And nope – I am not into changing outfits four times for my wedding so no studio photoshoots for me..

I talked to mum just now – told her that next month, Ohanaya-san wants to drive up to Kuala Terengganu – where my parents are staying now – to discuss about the wedding and engagement. He’s going to go with his uncle and mum. My parents are ok with it and looking forward to it. *

Prays it goes well.

Will be going house hunting this weekend. Yeah!!!

Shopping trip for Hantaran

I got a golden brown beaded chiffon material for my engagement dress and sent ot to tailor.. *now very broke and i owe my mum RM200… yikes.. also … ended up getting a bridal package — from Butik Jalinan Mutiara for RM 1K plus++ Why? Because I fell head over heels over their dress. You see,they had the exact wedding dress that I have wanted. It is sumwhat like this but with a golden beads and pearls on the outer dress and a white A-line inner gown. No pics because I don’t want to spoil the surprise – you’ll get to see the dress in mmm… 8 months from now *huahahaha…* and the package comes with veil, the guys outfit *complete with tanjak and keris*, bridal accessories *tiara/necklace & earrings and also the all important pelamin. That should take a major load off me and no need for me to go ask around for pelamin and bridal package quotations anymore.. yeah!!!!

Bought stuff for making the hantaran trays for the engagement. Ohanaya-san will be sending me 5 trays while I in return send him 7 trays (must be odd numbers and the girl give at least 2 extra more trays in return).

What is hantaran you may ask? Hantaran are the wedding expenses (cash) and also Gifts. The gifts are normally clothes, some accessories, cakes or ‘kuih’( traditional cakes) that is usually exchanged during the engagement or the wedding itself.

I am planning to put a lot of food for my engagement hantaran stuff. First tray would be the compulsory ’sirih junjung’, then bunga rampai, a baju melayu material, fruits, cake, chocolate and a dessert dish * my mum have not decided what to do… maybe a pudding or a jelly dessert or a traditional ‘kuih’.

Mum got us some ribbons, butterflies *I luv butterflies* and artificial flowers. All in cream and brown gold in tone… yup instead of purple.. I ended up with brown gold… Never mind…  Still looks ok I guess. Dad already started bugging me to do the invite cards layout and wording. Managed to find a sample text online and copy+pasta… LOL
